I spent over 10 years practicing before offering my services to the wider audience as I wanted to be as true as possible and to provide justice to the art of what I do.
What makes me different is that I will always provide a holistic view (to which my medical background and years of research lends to) as well as ensuring that I work with you every step of the way. I also work very closely with crystals so if this is something that interests you then I can add this to the treatment too.
REIKI
Reiki as defined by the Oxford English dictionary is: "A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and to restore physical and emotional well-being."
Reiki is an energy healing therapy and hospitals and clinics around the world are becoming popular in participating in trials to help spread the awareness of Reiki in complimentary therapy. It activates the own body's healing mechanism's and is a non-invasive which makes this an extremely safe and gentle treatment to have. Did you know; that Reiki can also be done on all ages of people including babies and even animals! If anything; Reiki is extremely relaxing, restorative and helps any kind of physical or mental ailments. I also incorporate crystals in the treatment which amplifies the healing.
SOUND HEALING
Sound healing works by sending sound waves throughout your body; which brings harmony through oscillation and resonance. This helps restore your body's balance which in turn helps you heal. Singing bowls are utilized in the course of sound therapy. The pure, high frequency sounds resonate and entrain with our physical, emotional and energetic bodies, bringing the possibility of clearing, cleansing and balancing at the cellular level. It stimulates stress relief on all levels and helps with the elimination of toxins from the body. After sound therapy emotions are calm and the mind clearer as it helps to release emotional trauma and promotes total relaxation.
I use crystal bowls which are attuned to a particular frequency and everyone always comments at how loud this can go whilst being extremely contented.
CLOSING THE BONES
This is a unique, restorative and nourishing treatment where this involves a massage using hands and rezobos (handmade woven cloths originating from Mexico) Typically used in women who are pregnant; as the hips widen during pregnancy, the massage given helps to physically facilitate the closing of the bones (something that is not offered in the UK but can be found in other countries) Ideally the treatment is given as close to afterbirth as possible and at least 5 to 6 times during the first 40 days post-partum. The massage will stimulate the blood flow, immune system and tones the muscles and tissue. This is the beginning of putting the uterus and bladder back into place and gets the hormones moving.
However, I also focus on offering this treatment to women of our mothers and grandmothers' generation as they suffered majority of trauma such as India partition and 1984 genocide. These women will not want to talk to a therapist as they were in constant survival mode so to offer a form of non-talking therapy which helps to release trauma whilst providing comfort is an amazing service. This is an intimate and sacred massage that occurs and I am keen to offer this to South Asian women especially.
